It is difficult for me to not get emotional when every day I hear from women living the life I once lived. I intensely feel their pain Every day I hear from someone living a double life pretending to be Muslim or pretending to be straight-as not pretending could get them killed

When I hear of ppl dismissing their suffering, it enrages me. I dont understand the level of gall, privilege and narcissism required to turn a blind eye
They have to turn a blind eye because it doesn't play well with their victim narrative for the western world.
I believe some of them are blinkered by prejudice. "Oh they can't help it, it is their culture!". It's depressing. Wish I could do more.

It saddens me to think of people who live in parts of the world where you cannot express what you believe. I can only hope that all this suffering will rid the planet of narcissism and see that we all have to act as one body in order to be the best that we all can be. Pax
Denial is a problem. That's why holocaust denial is a problem. I believe it's at the very core of the problem. They might not be able to do anything about the situation, but at the very least they could acknowledge the problem. It's not even done. How can they expect change?
People (which includes women)are smart. They look at things (read culture) as a package not as isolated practices as liberals/feminists are wont to! Their decisions are based on overall payoffs!
I know how outraged I am with the glorification/promotion of the veiling of women & modesty/rape culture I can’t imagine what you must feel. So much of the left is abandoning some of the most vulnerable women in the world. Don’t these women deserve the same dignity & freedoms?
