Re wigs, I’m specifically referring to the Hasidic (fundamentalist Jewish) practice of a married woman shaving her head and wearing a wig. Like the other examples, it’s a practice that stems from modesty culture.

I agree, Kassy. She should be allowed to wear it.
Ppl are free to wear wigs, hijabs, Mormon underwear...it’s their right.
And it’s our right to criticize any of those practices.

The difference being that no kne notices the wig or the Mormon underwear. The hijab on the other hand is worn precisely to advertise and moralise modesty culture and Islam - it’s a political statement.

Forced hijab is the beast we have to slay first. I just hope no one is taking aim at women saying they choose it here in the West. That's..a separate topic and boils down to differences of religious opinion. Let's focus on those with no choice.

I am with you in that you must defend the woman who wants her freedom. We all want freedom to choose anything in our life ... and want to choose to wear a hijab or not ...

no sane woman will choose to wear hizaab unless imposed upon her as her virtue in her childhood. daughters/sisters follow elders blindly ..obviously....
