If women want to wear hijab, chastity belts, bind their feet, shave their head-that’s their prerogative Every woman is free to wear what she wants. It’s her right to support her own subjugation However, liberal Western corps in democracies should NOT be endorsing such practices

Why are we in a position where we have to re-fight fights we’ve already won? We’ve already established our values re feminism, antisemitism and LGBT Why are these issues even conversations again? It’s not the 1950’s Stand by your values

I'm so thankful for you. I'm so used to seeing the
#hijab supported by my fellow lefties that it has almost ceased to register in me the disdain and rejection that it deserves. Its bizarre that they don't see it for wat it is. Would they support chastity belts as well???!!!xxxx -
I know. I feel the exact same way. Such betrayal from the ppl I risked my life to escape to...it is bizarre and sad xx

Thank you for explaining about the hijab. I always thought it was part of the Muslim religion, but you’re saying is just another way to control women.

It is both.

I agree with all these points.those who chose to wear it & there are some, let them be. Going after brands who help promote the hijab is the extreme side & it strengthens the argument that non muslims are against us for people like

I do let them be. I let Hasidic women who shave their heads be as well. And Mormon women who wear modesty underwear. They have the right to wear what they want If Nike supported Mormon underwear by slapping its logo on it-most feminists would react accordingly Right =/= Support

It hurts my heart when here in Canada I see prepubescent girls wearing hijab. It is perverse that otherwise loving parents would smother one a precious child with hijab. We need greater awareness about all the coded meanings of hijab and the poisonous elements of "honor culture."
