What is w @Nike? What is the obsession with modesty culture? For Western women they encourage them to be strong and fight, and for the rest of us they support hijab. Do the tiniest bit of research Nike. A cursory Google search. Inexcusable and absolutely vile. #HijabIsRapeCulture

Ms. Yasmine, I assume they did however they decided to go with the pic that makes ayatollahs happy -Hijab is a sign of oppression. I was forced to wear it when I was in Iran. I threw it in the trash when I left the country :)
They are just trying to increase their customer base! More customer reach is better! You are reading too much into it.
Perhaps I'm being too charitable, but maybe whoever made the promo just didn't know and grabbed a random picture of her, and it just happened to have her wearing the hijab, so they used it without realizing its implications. #BenefitOftheDoubt
Its simple. Nike is a clothing company, the more clothes women wear the more clothes they can sell them.
Would Dr Maryam be as great as she was if she dedicated her life to Islam? She exceeded her potential bc she was able to flourish, free of rules that would mandate the hijab.
And the whole Colin Kaepernick thing is weird.
