Well it was France that demanded Decathlon not sell hijabs. It was French politicians that spoke up against it as modesty culture doesn’t represent French values

Americans are mostly religious people, it s difficult for them to understand how oppressive and dangerous a religion can be. In France, most people are not religious and some are afraid obscurantism may come back, that would be terrible for womens right and for minorities
