#WhenIWasAMuslim I was told I was morally superior because I wore hijab and niqab. I was told I was a better person and that I’d be rewarded more in the afterlife
But I didn’t feel those things. I felt suffocated and robbed of my individuality

There’s a definite judgement there-even if it’s unspoken. It comes out at times though. I once was dealing w two students who had a disagreement and one said to me “I don’t lie. You can’t trust her, doesn’t even wear hijab”.

I had a pretty much the same experience. In the society where I grew up a hijabi woman is a more trustful woman than non-hijabi. .
