PLEASE. You come into the replies of a woman that you don't know, refer to the way she dresses as a "tool of rape culture" multiple times and expect not to be received as some kind of freedom fighter? Fuck off with this bullshit. Lead your judge-y mean girl life on your own TL.

It’s ok, Shannon. You don’t matter. I fight for women from my community. My allies are strong, fierce, brave women that fight patriarchy at the risk of imprisonment or death. It’s obvious a privileged white woman like you will never comprehend our struggle. I’m done w you.

Keep going. I don't understand the hate you receive. I so believe in what you're fighting for, and so many of us do!

"I don't understand the hate you receive after coming into a stranger's replies and informing her that her way of dressing is a 'tool of rape culture.'" Yes it's such a MYSTERY!

Is it not possible for our acts and manners to be used and manipulated by others??? Isn't that what Yasmine is saying here ? Yasmine specifically stated that she encourages people to dress how they choose. Hijab or not.

Would you be ok with someone who lives differently than you coming into your replies & and informing you the way YOU dress is a "tool of rape culture?" No. You would not. What if their reason was they think you're "being used" by godless capitalist culture? Still no.

yeah - Hend or anyone else shouldn't be forced to hear things they disagree with. That's called hate speech.

that's called life. and it's entirely mature and normal to disagree. how have you lived this long without embracing disagreement and alternate views? it's how we grow and learn.

It's normal to disagree. It's not normal for adults to try to shame other adults for how they dress. That is asshole behavior and it's not ok.

It's also not normal to force half the population to dress modestly; as if they're property. Hijab is a garment for women, to enforce modesty. Forcing someone to dress modestly is slut-shaming; whether it's family, community or state. We oppose compulsory hijab.

Yes, and slut-shaming is a component of rape culture.

Just can't stay away from Hend's replies can you, Yasmine? So obsessed with how she dresses herself. Very telling. Hope you're able to stop projecting your own experiences onto others someday.
