Yes, you’re right. It happens in all cultures. However, in Muslim communities (even in the west) women are beaten, harassed, imprisoned and/or killed for not wearing hijab. That’s the difference. They can choose to wear it, but they can’t choose to remove it.

True but this is also true for the nonmuslim communities, because they brought the oppressive CULTURE, not religion. I think a lot of Muslims are confusing religion with culture to maintain the patriarchy. It’s cause of their lack of education of Islam.
