I think you’re misunderstanding the word ‘support’. Ppl have the right to wear hijab, bind their feet, cut their clitoris off or iron their breasts. But no country that calls itself a secular, liberal democracy should support any of those things. Support means condoning it.

Hmm, well I am not sure that being pro choice wrt hijab is not tacitly condoning the wearing of hijab. I would not condone forced hijab, however.

It’s not. Condoning it is putting it on Barbie, selling it for toddlers in Marks and Spencer, putting a Nike swoosh on it, having children in hijab on Gap ads etc....that’s condoning it. That’s supporting it. That’s what I’m opposed to.
