Sorry for such a bad experience. I dont know what oppression you're talking about but I wear my hijab freely, on my own accord. Please dont speak for the masses if you and a few others were unlucky enough to be forced into wearing a hijab. Thank you.

That is the challenge. Many Christian and atheist men abuse their wives. It is not exclusive to religion. It is men thinking that they own women. Think about the big picture.
It’s not exclusive to religion. You’re right. However, the problem is that Allah has sanctioned wife beating in Quran 4:34. So while societies and cultures can evolve and change-the literal word of Allah is absolute. It is religiously sanctioned abuse.

In my experience, men rely on other men to tell them what to do. That includes whatever so-called holy writings say. The Christians are no different. Men can stop telling other men to be assholes. That would be nice.
