The issue is you’re not beaten, attacked w acid imprisoned or killed for not wearing a hoodie.
The hijab is an oppressive tool of misogyny that women across the planet fight against. It’s not a hoodie.

Sorry for such a bad experience. I dont know what oppression you're talking about but I wear my hijab freely, on my own accord. Please dont speak for the masses if you and a few others were unlucky enough to be forced into wearing a hijab. Thank you.
That’s literally what you’re doing. No one cares about your personal experience. This is a huge worldwide issue. I’ve provided links of women being beaten, imprisoned, attacked w acid even killed, if you care...but you obviously don’t because you’re not so ‘unlucky’
My wife as well as other female family members wear the hijab out of PERSONAL CHOICE, I'm sure the VAST majority of Muslim women wear the hijab because they want to and not because someone is telling them. You make it sound like every Muslim women wears the hijab out of fear
According to research by Pew, somewhere in the order of 1 in 4 Muslims believe that women have no right to choose whether they wear a veil or not. For them it is a religious duty. It may be unpleasant, but there *can* be a lot of pressure placed on women to veil themselvespic.twitter.com/FpfQKfshwh
What I find interesting is that 2 of 3 seem to believe that women DO have a right to decide. I wouldn't have thought it was that high, given what you and others are saying about this.
Well, I can't really speak to what others have been saying, but it might be worth adding in connection with the idea that women are subject to patriarchal pressures that 86% believe ("completely" or "mostly") that a wife must always obey her husband.pic.twitter.com/SZ1ukD2LFQ
This of course raises appearance of a particular tension: between the right to choose whether to veil or not, and being obedient to one's husband (what happens if those aims conflict?).
Could you share a link to this PEW research please?
Yep original data is here http://www.pewforum.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2013/04/worlds-muslims-religion-politics-society-full-report.pdf … . Relevant data for the graphs I've pointed to are in the "topline", pages 192 and 200
