Why? What Jordan Reiter said is true if there is even one woman who requires a sport hijab for running or swimming. Why make it about anything other than what he said? Why imply that white people have "zero understanding" of Islam? That was ridiculous.
Islam was created 1400 yrs ago. Nike made their hijabs two years ago. Do you think no Muslim women ran before the benevolent Western retailer made a hijab out of Lycra? You think that was ‘required’? Stop thinking you’re the center of the universe. Im embarrassed for you.

It's a fair point. But one does wonder how many Muslim women are allowed to be athletes. And how many Muslim women wear a hijab but their mother and grandmothers didn't. And do you not think that Nike did market research before launching a product?

Bravo Yasmine. There are also women who do sport without Hijab, but in minority as compared to the rest of the women. Clothing isn't the only thing preventing Muslim women from participating, it's the whole culture that imposes patriarchy onto them.
