Honest question: how does Shadi Hamid “support” the Muslim Brotherhood? From my understanding, he just explains how Islamist movements work. Thanks.

Ask him. Ask him for a point-blank, yes or no answer. His favorite thing to do when asked is to send you a link to his book on Amazon. It’s not hard to say NO I don’t support the terrorist/Islamist regime that has killed many of my fellow Egyptians...but he’s never said that.

No, America is not a secular country. Its foundation is based on laws rooted in Judeo-Christian moral principles. If a religious practice doesn’t conflict, a person is welcome to practice it. The more we’ve all strayed from this truth, the more chaotic our culture has become.

Right on. The First Amendment's secularism (freedom of *&* freedom from religion) means the US isn't a restaurant that has to find extra table space. The 1st Am. is the house rule. Whatever religion you are, find *yourself* a table.

I'd pay good money to see Yasmine and Shadi have a discussion for an hour or so. "Islamist" suggests Shadi seeks or has a goal of an Islamic society. I'd like to hear from him on that, then Yasmine, then Shadi, then Yasmine ...

He fears apathy towards faith. As if that were a bad thing...
