Their choices of policies and reasons why should give an educated guess. If evangelical Christian say thinks a soul is in a foetus from day 1 then you chalk it up as religious influence. If Muslim says blasphemy should be outlawed then the same applies.

Absolutely. I think we need to be just as vigilant w watching for those signs w all religious politicians. If we’re trying to progress society, then we need to watch for insidious attempts to enact ancient values.

I’m not sure why this would come as a surprise to anyone. I’m a feminist and that would definitely inform my decisions. Duh. Our beliefs inform our actions. Why do ppl use a completely different yardstick when it comes to Muslims? They’re just as human as the rest of us.

If a conservative Muslim makes libertarian choices for policy then surely that shows a lack of religious influence in their politics. I’m not saying this applies here because I have no idea. I’m not gay interested in these specific people but i like maajid & respect his view.

Simple answer: Look at her policy positions and then look at Pence’s policy positions. Then, look at how Pence has tried to implement his religious based policy positions into law for everyone to follow.
