The terms liberal and conservative in the Islamic community are not used to denote any political affiliation, per se. They loosely mean less practicing/moderate vs more practicing/fundamentalist. Muslims are across the spectrum and often move across it in their lives.
Maajid, for ex, would never need to be schooled on why he shouldn’t use dangerous antisemitic tropes. He’d already know it was unacceptable-and he’d never have the desire to anyway because he’s a decent human being. Not all Muslims are like Ilhan. Don’t paint them all w her brush
