I can't stand Linda Sarsour, but this is an unfair take. Even evil people deserve to be treated with dignity after death. And the issue of proper religious burial is just as much about the religion as it is about the wishes of the deceased.

No one denied his religious burial, the state just said they wouldn't pay for it. And the request for the imam in with him was denied as it would be for any other type of priest to enter the room of execution.

If he was denied the right to have a religious/spiritual advisor at his side during his execution and deprived of religious burial rites which would normally be granted then that's wrong. Think it should be handled as an issue rather than a cause for the man himself though.

You can say death row suspects don’t deserve religious burials if you wish - but they obviously discriminated here. We can agree he was scum but we can also say the authorities were discriminating . I do understand that families and friends of the girl are going to be disgusted .
