Hijab tortures women all over the planet.
Aqsa Parvez was killed here in #Canada, the Shafia sisters were killed here in Canada, the unnamed minor in Quebec beat up by her father was in Canada. I was in Canada.
We deserve our freedom of expression too.

When one grows up believing she's going to hell for not covering her awrah, choice is no longer an option. Even more so when people around her correlates hijab= being religious, so not wearing one is a clear sign of rebellion. It's because it's the first thing they see

My country is considered as moderate but even so, modesty culture is heavily emphasized here. So much so that when an actress decides to no longer wear her hijab, it made national news- prompting a huge backlash from Muslims (& even some non Muslims too)

I get the importance of modesty, I do, but what does walking around with a small throw over your head have to do with modesty?

It's too long to explain. Let me start with this: It's not just the piece of cloth. Awrah for women in Islam is everything except your face and the palm of your hand. Everything else has to be covered.

Some actually believed that a strand of women's hair, if seen by strangers will cause her to be burned in hell for 70k years (1 day in the afterlife= 1000 years on earth). This Hadith is fake though.

Between you and me...who do you think came up with this stuff? A woman? Where is the soul searching in Islamic men regarding their own inability to exercise control over themselves? Do Islamic men have deep-seated issues with impulse control? I think so.

It’s also about possession and control. They don’t want other men looking at their property.
