This is such a thorny issue, and there seems to be great pleasure (from all political quarters) in outrage. That said, in righting past wrongs, we will NEVER move forward if we do not reckon with what came before. Some just want the conversation to be over & nothing to change.

I’m elated to see the conversation happening, but I’m elated because it means change..so I get frustrated when there are ppl who stand in the way of celebrating progress. Same w women’s issues. We have to simultaneously acknowledge the past/present failures and celebrate the wins
