Even after your clarification, I still don’t understand what you’re trying to say. What follows from “we don't have any moral high ground to stand on in the west”? Since men in the west have treated women like crap, we can’t demand that other men stop treating women like crap?
I mean we could continue w this line of reasoning...cave men used to rape women so what right does modern man have to condemn rape? We are not pointing out these atrocities out of posturing. We’re pointing them out because we care about our fellow human beings.

Agreed. I absolutely reject the notion that you need some level of virtue to qualify for promoting liberty. Ignorant people do ignorant things. Once you know better, you can promote and demand better, even when yesterday you were a misguided one doing the wrong thing.
