I am sorry you think that as it is not what I intended. Rather I wanted to say things were like that here not long ago and so we don't have any moral high ground to stand on in the west. I have inadvertently stired up a small storm by being taken the opposite of how I intended

Even after your clarification, I still don’t understand what you’re trying to say. What follows from “we don't have any moral high ground to stand on in the west”? Since men in the west have treated women like crap, we can’t demand that other men stop treating women like crap?
