The US is more and more resembling Iraq w its sectarian divide. Instead of Shia vs Sunni, it’s left vs right I guess it fulfills a human/tribal desire to pick a side, join a mob, then yell at another mob. But what does that accomplish? It’s not only exhausting, it’s fruitless 2
I mean, w the Sunni/Shia thing, there’s no answer...theyll continue to hate each other. And that’s ok. I’d rather them fighting each other than joining forces, tbh But in the US, it’s so tragic because it doesn’t have to be this way! Just down, ppl.
It doesn't accomplish anything other than keeping people divided and making money for some. Worth noting that, up through Vietnam, the U.S. Civil War had more U.S. casualties than all other wars combined, including both world wars.

Well, civil debate/conversation vs verbal attacks. I made the innocuous point that ppl grow and change (I’m a prime example) so we should judge Northam on his life today-not decades ago. I was immediately met w a response of youre so racist and beyond redemption etc. Ridiculous.
So true. That's why I'm so against party affiliation. It should scare EVERYONE how when people identify as a democrat or republican, they tend to adopt EVERY plank of the platform, top to bottom. Group Think and conformity is out of control in America and the parties know it.
this is unbelievable, and it fractures even further, male / female , white black (I think MLK would have gotten a heart attack), Trans/hetero, religious / secular, some religious calling out "secular fundamentalists", it goes on and on
