I’ve been fascinated by this “our version is bad, but their’s is good.” It almost always requires you to view the other as “quaint”. Helps a lot to feel superior to “the other”. It’s like they see hijab the way people see talking animals in cartoons. Cute.

They aren't liberals, they're intersectionalist progressives. They view life as a power struggle between the oppressors and the oppressed. In their twisted view, white christians are the oppressors and islamic fundamentalists are the oppressed. Any criticism of Islam is 'racist'.
