Absolutely. In Egypt, where the majority of women wear hijab or niqab, 99.3% of women report being sexually harassed. What Western country, with women who dont wear hijab, can claim statistics like that? #FreeFromHijab https://www.huffingtonpost.com/engy-abdelkader/99-percent-of-egyptian-women-girls-have-been-sexually-harassed_b_3373366.html …https://twitter.com/de_void/status/1088869815102537728 …

Covering up is supposedly meant to ensure the safety of women. Yet women actually seem to be much less safe than in countries where women don't cover up

It has nothing to do with covering/not covering and EVERYTHING to do w how you raise your sons. (This should not be new information to anyone--we know this). To explain those statistics, here is an example of what young Egyptian boys are taughthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuX78fgizRg …

Wearing hijab isn't guaranteeing my safety any more than a seat belt is. I wear hijab for many reasons, and it feels better for me. If it didn't feel good for you, then I'm glad you took it off and went with your true nature.

Wearing a seatbelt is statistically proven to keep you safer. If you’ve seen any such evidence that hijab keeps you safer, please share it, but I’ve not yet seen any. Either way, I support your right to dress as you please and appreciate that you support the right to take it off.

Implying that covering women up protects from sexual harassment is a subtle way to say that women have a share in the blame if they are attacked. It's a mentality that blames the victims & emboldenes the attackers.

Remember what happened to CBS 60 minutes reporter covering uprising? She had body guards and was on tv yet a large group of "men" sexually assaulted her. That is their religious morals right there.

We know we are right, of course, but are we ever going to convince the “cleric”, of course not. So what are we trying to do? Raise awareness in the west or encourage hijab disobedience in Muslim countries? I am in, either way.
