Why are you opposed to saying that a religion can be part of a culture? Cultures can be bad too. Side with the truth. culture - “the ideas, customs, and social behaviour of a particular people or society.” Religion is a set of ideas that can be in society in different ways.

Is the answer supposed to be "No"? There are shared aspects, because religion is a big part of culture for some of us. It's like asking if a very wealthy Italian and a very poor Italian share the same culture. No... but yes.

I think it's a difficult one because the line between religion and culture can be blurred (FGM is a prime example). People experience Islam differently depending on where they live and this contributes to so called progressives defending illiberal ideas /1

The intention is the defence of a minority in a liberal democracy but this ends up defending ideas which in other countries are used by authoritarians to suppress the majority. /2
