Yasmine, can you (or someone) explain to me what women get out of being fundamentalist Muslim? I can see the appeal for men - it's a patriarchy where women are under their control. But what do women get out of being completely covered and under the control of male relatives?
It's indoctrination from a young age. It's internalized misogyny. It's no personal liberties. It's no financial independence. They dont choose it because they get something out of it. They choose to stay stuck because the cost of leaving is too high-the mental/social barriers
