Yasmine, by luck or design, Canada is seen as a bulwark against Saudi Arabia's human rights abuses. I'm pretty sure Trudeau is not losing sleep over what SA thinks of him

  One possible reason is because we need sources for oil importing, as we destroy our own O&G industry. It's a bad reason and a terrible situation, but look who is making the decisions on our behalf right now.

  I agree wholeheartedly! Any nation that is frequent violation of human rights laws does not deserve to do business with us, and our nation should stand as an example of that. Cut off aid and trade, and encourage other nations to do the same, until they change.
