When a Muslim defends the hijab, I get it.
When a nonMuslim defends it, I don’t get it at all.
Saying the hijab is just ‘fabric in the head’ is as vacuous as saying a slave in chains just has ‘metal on their wrists’

I have so many feelings about this. I am uncomfortable calling out Jews or Muslims for head coverings because I don't want to speak for others or their religions. But in general I completely agree with you, and I will absolutely call out other Christians for

I get that when it is imposed, coerced, by others or by the state, as in iran or saudi arabia. But what if a woman voluntarily does it in following the Qur'an, which she believes to be the Word of God, which tells her why it is beneficial for her? Is it still misogyny etc.?
