Valid point IMO. But....should any society be permitted to establish standards of modesty that some may find oppressive? Dig into the core topic with me if you ain't scared :)

Modesty is subjective, I agree with that. The problem is, in many Islamic countries, the state determines and enforces modesty standards, standards that weigh especially heavily on women. I fail to see how it's oppressive to advocate for a woman's right to *choose* what to wear.
