Futile??? No, I have made comments to your twitter account only to see dozens 'liking' what I have said. (and few disagree!) Keep up the good work, Yasmine. Your words are powerful and they are a help and sign of hope to many of those unfortunate women.

I'm an American feminist and I support both Paris Hilton and Linda Sarsour. Because both of them know what it's like to have a really bad hair day. And they've both figured out how to work the financial system in their favor.

Many see empathy and criticism as mutually exclusive, they think theyre being empathetic to reject criticism...

But these two qualities are decisively symbiotic.

Never even try to talk to people like Paris Hilton.

Even if you only reach one person you will have changed a life. Then they can go out and teach another, and another. Your words are like a river, a constant flow, changing one life at a time.

The problem here (UK) is people who think they are arguing for religious freedom of women. They seem to conveniently forget the threat under which many women here in the UK live.

They also close their eyes to the fact that the muslim community lives largely by it's own laws so a women can be tried and punished without a single law enforcement agency here ever knowing about it. Openly saying this also makes me an islamaphobe to many.
