Yes, it’s been on my mind bcos people claimed Maajid couldn’t be an anti-Muslim bigot bcos he was one. I thought the @ splcenter was wrong but not bcos he was a Muslim.
Agreed. It was wrong but not because hes Muslim, but because his advocacy comes from a place of genuinely caring about humanity-he wants Muslims to reform to make life better for them and for the rest of us. He addresses issues w Islam as a whole and isnt about the sectarianism.
I don’t agree with his interpretation of Islam, but it doesn’t matter if he continues to support secular democracy.
