I even know a psychopath who wouldnt do those things. Even if she doesnt 'feel' the morality like we do, shes much more reasonable in her thinking than the vast majority of these people. These people are as you said, trained to think their bigotry is righteous.
It the same thing with parents not wanting to get their children vaccinated, they think they are interesting in the best interests of the child even though they are harming them. Their intentions are good but their ideas are bad
I would say in both situations the lack of critical thinking skills prevents people from being able to discern facts from tripe. One important distinction is in many theocracies questioning & independent thinking can have dire consequences.
