Interesting convo. I have a lot of respect for @Deeyah_Khan’s empathetic perspective re Jihadis and Nazis, and humans in general.
But there were a lot of times when I felt she was being hypocritical or at least being intellectually dishonest.

Did she make that doc in order to make Muslims look bad? No. Of course not. I would not assume that malicious intent from her. I recognize her motives. Sad that she’s happy to assume that intent about us though, and to assume the worst motives.pic.twitter.com/UVdbcHns7L

Sadly, much like Maryam Namazie, she's married to the Leftist ideology. The Left perceives itself as morally right, so even slight dissent from the ideology is branded Right Wing. And those who are perceived as holding Rightist values are to be suspected and condemned by default.

Liberals/conservatives and left/right wing ideologues are not the same. True liberal/conservative looks at an issue on its merit- willing to change his/her outlook if warranted. Ideologues judge every issue from their narrow and rigid perspective- never change their outlook.

She's given the same absurd argument I've heard before; which is trying to avoid criticism or discussion of izlam for fear of bigotry. Of course Sam didn't stop her, however the argument is absurd. It's a self defense move in a way that unproductive.
