I’m a keen observer and picked up on it starting up after 2001 in Egypt. I was @ AUC the summer of 2001 & had no issues at all with being harassed. Went back for a visit in 2002 & first thing I noticed was a guy yelling at his friend to follow me as I walked by.

I worked with a woman who went to Egypt for a holiday. She was regularly sexually assaulted in Cairo, even in the lift of her hotel, even though she was in her 60's. She couldnt believe it!
