.Forced dress codes in the Muslim world is an oppressive objectification of women. It isn't a cultural symbol. Neither is a woman walking many paces behind her man, or unable to walk unescorted by a man in public. Gender enslavement veiled by religious edicts is criminality!

It’s always oppression, even when a woman chooses it. I used to think otherwise, but the reasoning they use to claim that choice is based on cultural and religious norms that are oppressive in their own right.

Question. Women in the west often say it’s their “choice”. Is it? Would they wear it if their husbands, fathers, brothers, etc. not require them to? & if they are not required, where do they learn to start wearing it in the first place (I’m referring to born into not conversion).
