A lot of ppl have asked me about my personal feelings towards #Israel, so here goes: I grew up in a fundamentalist Islamic home where I was taught to hate Jews to an irrational degree. The hate was divinely ordained.

Till 1980’s I was pro Palestine, believed Israelis were oppressors. Then I saw the news, on a cruise ship on Italian coast-Palestinian terrorists throw elderly handicapped Jewish man on a wheelchair throw in the sea. He drowned. Since that day I became staunch pro Israel.

How are they even human? How can anyone lose their humanity to that extent?

2 state is only plausible solution for lasting peace. I admire your candor and I’d like to pose a question. Considering what you just said and the Hadith referring to Jews, rocks, and trees, what could be done to bridge the divide if religious people believe it is G-d’s word?
-
For the religious, there is no solution but to annihilate all Jews from Israel and all non-believers off the planet. That’s why secularism is so important.

The vast majority of Israelis also accept a two state solution but only if based on an irrevocable peace accord and thereby sustained security. The Arabs are unable to give any such assurance. Peace is temporary ie Hudna and not real. Stay safe Yasmine.

If for every linda sarsour there were 2 Yasmines, the world would have been a fantastic place.

Technically speaking there already is a two-state solution. Both Israël (a Jewish state) and Jordan (an Arab state) were founded out of Palestine. People wanting the westbank and Gaza as additional states want 2 to 3 Arab states and just one Jewish state. 1/2
