I’m also a Palestinian woman, but I’m nothing like Linda Sarsour. A lot of us aren’t. She doesnt speak for Muslims, Palestinians or for Arabs, and she most certainly doesn’t speak for feminists. She speaks for herself. And what she has to say is divisive, hateful, and violent.
She advocates for a one-state solution; she doesn’t believe Israelis should have a home to call their own. But Palestinians should? What makes one group more deserving than the other? Israelis fought for their land, and won. Just like almost every other country on the planet.
She says ‘you can’t be a feminist and a Zionist at the same time’, but would she say you can’t be a supporter of Palestine and a feminist at the same time? Of course not. But why not? Does she think that the two groups of women fighting for their land are fundamentally different?
But that’s exactly the issue right there. She does see them as fundamentally different. She sees Palestinians as human beings, and she asks that we not ‘humanize’ Israelis.
The list of reasons to disavow Sarsour have been public for yrs, I won’t re-hash it all here. It’s obvious that she believes in human rights and dignity for some humans-not all. That is not the kind of person that should be leading anything-let alone a liberal women’s march.
Please continue this pressure until she is removed. She has tainted what the founder @TeresaShookWM saw as an inclusive, empowering movement. With her hateful rhetoric removed, we can get back on track.
Well, you see, you are a realist. You know that there is plenty of room for Everybody. And especially women can live together so we should settle things peacefully. So everyone's happy.

Both sides plainly have a claim to the land in terms of having occupied it for centuries.
It's a long and complicated mess that's deeply divided with different religions on each side. When I look at the geography, I see Israel looking tiny in the context of being surrounded by vast expanses of enemy territory -- that's somewhat of a testament to Israel for surviving.
