A small group of neo-Nazis walk the streets in Charlottesville and everyone immediately recognizes it as hateful and anti-Semitic. Huge Al Quds rallies every year, across the planet, ppl are gathered to scream about killing Jews and no one bats an eye.
I’m so tired of the hypocrisy. It’s so stupid and blatant and dangerous. Why are ppl with a bit more melanin in their skin treated so differently? It’s madness. It’s bigotry.
That’s right the gene that colours your skin is about as important as the one that colours your hair and eyes, no difference.
Good points re double standards and racism of lower expectations, but the terror attack Morrison talking about one mentally ill nutter, not planned, networked, broadly orchestrated attack. Important distinction I think.
To further your point though, it was decried as racist when ASIO (our MI5/CIA) reported that most Australians who joined Islamic State were of Lebanese decent - which makes sense as big population. Then the actual racists said "should never have let Lebs in". Sigh.

Saw a sign- Whites are people too. Canadian defence minister @HarjitSajjan tweeted it's racist.
If the sign said- Blacks or Muslims are people, you be sure his reaction would have be different.
Mostly it's location. People worry about people nearby them more than people far away; they worry about he members of their own group because they're around them all the time.
