Ugh I didn’t learn most of my Arabic until I did a study abroad in college, prior only Arabic I knew was whatever we spoke at home which was predominantly mixed with English creating our own little home dialect. So whatever to that comment made to you

It was so interesting to me when I learned that most Muslims don’t understand Arabic just like most Jews don’t understand Hebrew. Which turned out to mean many people in both groups haven’t read much of their religious texts in languages they understand.
