Tldw: I think there should be no religious freedom afforded to the niqab/burka as it is a safety issue, and safety supersedes all. If no one else is allowed to cover their face in a bank/school etc, then niqabis aren’t allowed to either #OneLawForAll

Sikh or not the law has no be the same. This sets a bad precedent and goes against secularism. Religion specific exemptions are a dangerous step in the wrong direction. Yasmine is right about this one.

That is ridiculous. What if my religion asked for me to carry a gun? Yea the kirpan is blunt but it's only symbolic. What is the relevance of age old diktats today? I knw many orthodox Sikhs who wear a small pendant arnd their neck the shape of a Kirpan. Why cnt everyone do tht?
Ceremonial knives, burkas, facecoverings, robes, mitres, incense...etc etc etc..may be okay in a church mosque etc etc...but they have no place in public today.
I'll bet that PM Trudeau won't be flying on any plane where knives are permitted. We need to remember that Islamo-terrorists can easily impersonate Sikhs. Indeed, even though the Sikh Kirpan is part of their religious identify (one of the five "K"s,) no knives should be allowed.
I'm so happy a person's belief in an imaginary God allows them to carry a blade onto a plane, where as every other person who believes in a different God has to leave their blades at home.
