It doesn’t matter what its origins are. There are a million things in bibles that originated before them. The problem is when they get enshrined in holy books they don’t go away naturally. Eg If burqas were to show who was a slave and who wasn’t, without slavery it’s irrelevant.
Totally agree. The problem is how it’s used today...what damage it’s causing today. Same w the child-rape issue-I don’t care if pedophelia was rampant in his day-the fact that he’s a prophet and therefore it’s enshrined and millions of ppl emulate him *today* is the issue.

Majority of non Muslim countries have enacted secular laws. For example divorce is legal in India and most Catholic countries in spite of the fact it contravenes Hindu and Catholic religious laws. In Muslim countries every law must be Sharia compliant.
