the issue is not with culture, it’s with religion. Laws subjugating women, ordaining them to dress in a particular way are NOT cultural, but based on religious text. With all due respect, just because you haven’t experienced something, doesn’t mean it’s not common...

  Yes, religion and culture are weaved together, however, when looking at all these different cultures, we can ask what is the common denominator? It is Islam. Thus, we see the same silly rules and practices that oppress women and stifle invention/progress.
