I wore the hijab by choice. Im fact my lovely muslim dad tried to convince me not to. I was 19 an he wanted me to be sure i was doing it for the right reasons and not due to any pressure. And guess what! I did find it empowering. However I understand this is not the case for many

it’s legitimate to criticize the hijab as it is legitimate to defend it - that’s how it works in the west .... perhaps its not the west that needs the civics lesson ....
