I sympathise with all those who are hounded or threatened or killed for leaving their faith, & those who feel intimidated by such hateful teachings. The Qur’an teaches: “there is absolutely no compulsion in religion whatsoever” (2:256). Those who do so place themselves above God.

Yes, you are quite right about much of what you have stated. However, an 'appeal to majority' is a logical fallacy. The primary source of the religion is the Qur'an. We are already in a separate group for very good reasons, i.e. misinterpretation &/or misdeeds by the others.
I’m glad you don’t kill ppl for leaving Islam, but please don’t provide cover for murderers by pretending that the MAJORITY dont disagree w your interpretation. A dozen Islamic countries have it in the law’s to kill apostates. Thats the reality of Islam. Not the fantasy of Islam.
