"Evidence" in sex assault cases in the West does not have to mean four male witnesses. How about a tearful letter to a friend written back in the 1980s? That would go a long way to convincing people. This is all just basic scepticism, which is the bedrock of atheism.

It is perfectly legitimate to hate
#Kavanaugh and Trump and the GOP for their politics. That is fine. What is not fine is people abandoning scepticism and evidence checking, which should be applied to everyone - people you like and people you don't like. - 1 more reply

Really? Because we believe in things like due process, presumption of innocence, and that punishing knowingly providing false testimony (aka perjury) are the bedrock of any sane judicial system? As a Christian I would suffer greatly under Sharia, BTW.

I just think there needs to be an investigation. If I accused someone of committing a crime against me should everyone believe me 100% because I am the victim? Or because I'm a nice person? Maybe I'm telling the truth but what if I make a mistake and accuse the wrong person?

A testimony with no corroborating evidence at all and not 1 witness. if Kavanagh is guilty based on her testimony alone then this means a woman's testimony is worth twice that of a man's. I don't know if she is telling the truth, but to ruin an innocent person's life based on..

her testimony alone would be an injustice.
