I don’t think the idea is to believe all women, full stop. It’s simply a first step. The idea is to believe, then do due diligence. The idea is to change the initial reaction from *not believe* to believe. Why assume she’s guilty of lying? What about her presumption of innocence?
I think that feminist expressed a horrible sentiment that I totally disagree w, btw. I think that should go without saying. But it should do nothing to deter us from believing all women...until given reason not to. Innocent until proven guilty is a pretty important legal right.

What you describe doesn’t sound like “believing” as much as the logical action of “not disbelieving”. Before I knew anything more about Ford than that she had accused Kavanaugh, I didn’t disbelieve her. But I didn’t just believe her because she’s female. That would be illogical.

I want to be considered as equal. Believing whatever flies out of my mouth because Im a woman only serves notions that were fragile helpless creatures who need special protection & consideration. I say no. Men shouldnt automatically be believed & bc I am equal neither should I
