I think many of those who said that, just mix up two matters. There was no state of such name (Palestine) in history (at least yet) and that all people who lived in British Mandate of Palestine were mostly referred to as Palestinians (was not applied just to Arab population).
Yes, that’s true. But would ppl say Yazidis or Kurds don’t exist? Many groups exist though they don’t have a state.

Millions of stateless Kurds have a distinct ethnicity dating back to 7C b4 their 'conversion' 2 Islam. They practiced Yarsani b4 that. Kurds also have distinct languages: Sorani & Kurmanji. What criteria establishes a distinct ethnic grp?
I think it is wrong to say that Palestinians do not exist as they are now a reality in 2018 which only blind people can deny. Clearly a distinct nation as Kurds and Yazidis.
