I’m not offended when ppl say I’m conservative or right-wing because it’s not an insult; it’s just incorrect. I’m pro-choice, pro-universal healthcare, pro-free education, pro-environment and pro all enlightenment values. I’m also anti-religion. All religions. Especially Islam.

I find this rather odd. I consider myself far left. When I hear someone talk about Islam in a negative light, I first applaud them for their bravery, then I lend my support and solidarity for the fight. I don't ever consider them right wing. I see Islam as right wing. 1/2

#Islam is a great religion and can overcome any criticism. It’s been hijacked by morons. All religion in general are on the right as they all tend not to move with time. It’s in fact is a good thing but there must never be a compulsion to religion.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -
All religions are based on a false premise, and therefore cause harm, not only to the religious, but also, and especially to, those who don't follow it. There is zero evidence for any god, and, therefore, religion should be abolished. Islam is not a "great religion".

I fully respect your view and will defend your right to express it. If I did not have Islam, I will struggle to survive. We are all limited beings shaped by our limitations and by the society we are part of. If we are all limited, there must be a unlimited.

I doubt that. I'm surviving perfectly well without ever having been a Muslim. But as a former religious fundamentalist I can well remember the learned dependency I once had, that if not for my beliefs I would soon shrivel and die. You can move beyond it, but you need to want to.

I was brain washed when I was only 9 by the PLO. Long story! Have experienced many tragedies in my very eventful life. Many people I knew and loved were at the receiving end of genocides. If I did not believe in afterlife I will loose my mind.

Over the years I have grown up to focus on love and unity and I want to work for peace and harmony till the day I die. It is absolutely true that you do not have to believe in anything to work for mankind but Islam works for me

I wish more Muslims/religious ppl were like you, Mostafa. I think that’s a beautiful sentiment. I have no problem w religions if they’re personal and private. My problem is when they’re used publicly and politically to assert power/control...which, as you know, is quite common.

A lot of my atheist peers disagree as they (correctly) assert that it’s a placebo and a potentially dangerous placebo at that-and though I agree, I think we’re irrational beings in general and we believe in a plethora of bs placebos-not just religions.

So, I don’t think rationality is a realistic goal for humans. Instead, I’ll have to settle for ‘just keep your irrational beliefs to yourself and don’t hurt anyone w them’. That’s my hope/goal.
