How can I express how infuriating it is to know that the 18 yr old girl you were trying to help has disappeared, like so many girls before her, because of the fucking delusions of a goat herder in a cave over a thousand years ago? That has to be the most inane garbage.
On a planet where we perform medical miracles routinely with organ transplants-where we have technological miracles in our pockets-where we have fucking self-driving pizza delivery cars...women lose their lives over disobeying the figment of an ancient man’s imagination.
In every negative situation, I gravitate towards the positive. I clamor and cling to whatever glint of light I can see and I block out everything else and I focus on it...I actively find the tangible productive thing I can do, and I do it. But there’s no glint to hold on to.
