How cool would it be if there really was a god? That we could request things from an all-powerful deity? That would be so awesome.
The first thing I’d ask for was a way to help the countless women in #SaudiArabia living tormented lives.
I feel hopeless and helpless.
How can I express how infuriating it is to know that the 18 yr old girl you were trying to help has disappeared, like so many girls before her, because of the fucking delusions of a goat herder in a cave over a thousand years ago? That has to be the most inane garbage.
On a planet where we perform medical miracles routinely with organ transplants-where we have technological miracles in our pockets-where we have fucking self-driving pizza delivery cars...women lose their lives over disobeying the figment of an ancient man’s imagination.
In every negative situation, I gravitate towards the positive. I clamor and cling to whatever glint of light I can see and I block out everything else and I focus on it...I actively find the tangible productive thing I can do, and I do it. But there’s no glint to hold on to.
I love your heart and hear your lament over so much evil. Perhaps this longing for true justice, your desire for true goodness and freedom, points to a just, true and good God? A God who was not afraid to enter human suffering and die himself? Thankful for you.
There is a God and He loves and cares for everyone. Keep seeking Him and He will come to you. He even sent His Son to earth to show His love and to demonstrate His desire to be in relationship with all of humanity and leaves His Spirit with all who believe to intercede for us.
