I really want to talk about how pervasive #InternalizedMisogyny is in the Muslim world and how it is women that actively engage in oppressing their daughters and sisters and how none of it could be sustained without the consent and active participation of other women.

The concept is not so foreign. I don’t need to tell you how women take their little girls to be held down and cut with a razor between their legs or how they send their daughters to be raped in child marriages. You understand. You understand because you do it too. /3
Your examples may not be as extreme, but every time you choose to stay quiet as opposed to speaking up in support of freedom and equality and the emancipation of women across the globe, you are complicit. /4
